MK "FAXSEN"

Experience the fishing culture of Northern Norway

M/K Faxsen is a fishing boat with a long tradition. Built in 1916, this cutter has visited many of the most important fishing grounds along the coast. It is now operated by the Coastal Heritage organization “Salta” in Bodø as a “veteran” fishing boat.

We offer you an exiting fishing trip and sightseeing along the scenic coastline out of Bodø. If you wish, we serve the fish you catch on board. You may combine deep sea fishing with visits to some of the islands, for example the old trading post at Kjerringøy, or the famous malstrom Saltstraumen.

At Bliksvær, you may visit the old sea house belonging to M/K Faxsen. You may also rent the old school building at Blixvær for dinner or overnight stays.
